FREE AND OPEN DEMOCRACY PROGRAM AREA: CONDUCTING AND COMMISSIONING RESEARCH, DEVELOPING AND HOSTING CIVIC EVENTS, CONVENING COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS AND LEADERS TO DEVELOP AND EVALUATE SOLUTIONS RELATED TO THE FREE AND OPEN FUNCTIONING OF OUR DEMOCRACY AT THE LOCAL, STATE AND NATIONAL LEVEL. 2021 ACTIVITIES INCLUDED RESEARCH AND SUPPORT FOR CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND EDUCATIONS IN PORTLAND CHARTER REVIEW PROCESS, DEVELOPING MATERIALS AND CURRICULUM FOR EVENTS INTENDED TO FOSTER CIVIC "BRIDGING" WORK IN PORTLAND, OREGON IN 2022. RESEARCH TO UNDERSTAND OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH CIVIC ENGAGEMENT IN OREGON AND ANALYSIS FOR GAPS IN THE ENVIRONMENT.
