HOPE LOT PROJECT. THE LOT PROJECT SERVES MEALS, AND ALSO PROVIDES CLOTHING AND BASIC NEEDS ITEMS, TO THOSE IN OUR COMMUNITY WHO ARE HOMELESS, TRANSIENT,OR OTHERWISE IN THE MOST EXTREME LEVELS OF NEED. IN 2021, 11,540 MEALS WERE DISTRIBUTED AND 19,167 ARTICLES OF CLOTHING , SHOES, AND BASIC NEEDS ITEMS WERE DISTRIBUTED. ALSO IN 2021, THE LOT PROJECT REDISTRIBUTED 768 MEALS, AND 2,949 ARTICLES OF CLOTHING, COATS, PAIRS OF SHOES AND HYGIENE ITEMS TO SURROUNDING NOT- FOR- PROFITS.
MILL HILL MAKERS - A PROGRAM THAT IS UNDER DEVELOPMENT BUT NOT YET FULLY OPERATIONAL. IT WILL SERVE AS A COMMUNITY WORKSHOP AND WORKSPACE.VOLUNTEERS ARE ENGAGED IN BUILDING OUT THIS SPACE AND HELPING US TO DEVELOP THE PROGRAM AS WE EXPECT IT TO LAUNCH IN 2022. DURING 2021 PROGRESS WAS MADE ON THE BUILDING.
ARTISAN GARDENS- THE LOT PROJECT ALSO SUPPORTS TWO COMMUNITY GARDENS IN A VERY DEPRESSED NEIGHBORHOOD NEAR OUR LOCATION. THESE GARDENS SERVE AS A SPACE WHERE COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS GROW AND DISTRIBUTE FOOD TO MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY IN NEED. THE GARDENS ARE ALSO USED AS A TEACHING SPACE WHERE PEOPLE CAN COME TO LEARN HOW TO GROW THEIR OWN FOOD. IN 2021 THEY SERVED 12 HOUSEHOLDS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. WE ALSO MANAGED 12 RAISED BEDS WITH A TOTALOF 576 SQ. FEET OF GROWING SPACE, AND GREW MORE THAN 12 VARIETIES OF PRODUCE BETWEEN SPRING AND FALL. ALSO, THE LOT PROJECT WAS GIVEN PROPERTY WHICH WILL SERVE AS THE THIRD COMMUNITY GARDEN SITE.
