THE MISSION OF KIDS COOK IS TO IMPROVE THE OVREALL HEALTH OF SCHOOL CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH NUTRITION AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY EDUCATION, BY INVOLVING THEM IN HANDS-ON LEARNING ABOUT CULTURALLY DIVERSE FOODS THAT ARE HEALTHY AND APPEALING WHILE TEACHING THE BENEFITS OF DAILY EXERCISE.

MAINTAINED USDA GRANT FUNDING, PROVIDING EDUCATION IN 13 SCHOOLS TO OVER 2700 STUDENTS IN ALBUQUERQUE PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND RIO RANCHO PUBLIC SCHOOLS. CONTINUED RELATIONSHIP WITH PRESBYTERIAN COMMUNITY HEALTH RESOURCE CENTER PROVIDING COMMUNITY NUTRITION, COOKING AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY EDUCATION WITH ONLINE COOKING CLASSES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. PARTNERSHIP WITH THREE SISTERS KITCHEN AND PRESBYTERIAN COMMUNITY HEALTH RESOURCE CENTER AT THE REFRESH MOBILE FARMERS MARKET PROVIDING NUTRITION EDUCATION TO SNAP ELIGIBLE FAMILIES TO RECEIVE FRESH PRODUCE WEEKLY. PARTNERSHIP WITH PRESBYTERIAN COMMUNITY HEALTH RESOURCE CENTER PROVIDING NUTRITION EDUCATION AND COOKING SKILLS ONLINE DURING THE SUMMER MOBILE FARMERS MARKET PROGRAM. MAINTAINED STAFF IN THE TRANSITION BACK TO SCHOOLS AS COVID RESTRICTIONS LIFTED. WAS ABLE TO REENTER SCHOOLS IN THE FALL OF 2021 AND ABLE TO PROVIDE HANDS ON COOKING EXPERIENCES WITH STUDENTS.
