SUPPORTED SALEM MIDDLE SCHOOL IN THEIR EFFORT TO TEACH AGRICULTURE USING POULTRY HATCHING AND HYDROPONIC GROWING. THIS PROGRAM AIMS TO HELP YOUTH LEARN ABOUT WHAT IS INVOLVED IN GROWING PRODUCE AND THE DEVELOPMENT AND CARE OF ANIMALS. THE SPECIFIC FUNDING PROVIDED ALLOWED THE SCHOOL TO PURCHASE THE NECESSARY SUPPLIES FOR HANDS-ON LEARNING..
PROVIDED SUPPORT TO THE FARM BUREAU FOUNDATION TO BENEFIT THE INDIANA FARM BUREAU AG IN THE CLASSROOM PROGRAM. THE SPECIFIC USE OF THIS SUPPORT HELPED TO CREATE 40 NEW MIDDLE SCHOOL LESSONS AND UPDATE 40 EXISTING LESSONS IN THE CENTER FOR AGRICULTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY LIBRARY. THESE LESSONS ARE USED BY TEACHERS TO HELP CHILDREN TO LEARN ABOUT AGRISCIENCE EARLIER THAN HIGH SCHOOL. EACH LESSON IS CREATED WITH A STUDENT TEXTBOOK UNIT, ONLINE ASSESSMENTS, AND POWERPOINTS FOR TEACHERS TO USE.
