SOARING ACADEMYS TWO GOALS ARE TO PROVIDE OUR COUNTRYS WOUNDED SERVICE MEMBERS AN EMPOWERING SOARING FLIGHT THAT UNLOCKS POTENTIAL AND RESTORES SELF CONFIDENCE AND TO DEVELOP AND PROVIDE STEM EDUCATION AND FLIGHT OPPORTUNITIES TO TEACHERS AND STUDENTS.

OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR 2021 INCLUDE:- WARRIORS SOAR OUR MONTHLY FLY-DAY FOR VETERANS STRUGGLING WITH PTSD AND OTHER CHALLENGING INJURIES ENRICHES THE LIVES OF VETERANS. IN 2021 SOARING ACADEMY PARTNERED WITH LOCAL SOCAL VA HOSPITALS IN ADDITION TO HIGHER GROUND USA, TO PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION AND THERAPEUTIC RECREATIONAL AVIATION ACTIVITY. A BBQ LUNCH PROVIDED BY USAF IS ALSO A HIGHLIGHT AND PROVIDES ANOTHER AVENUE FOR CAMARADERIE AND SHARING AMONGST VETERANS. 190 VETERANS FLEW WITH US DURING 2021.- GLIDER-STEM, OUR OUTREACH PROGRAM TO 8TH GRADERS AND HIGH SCHOOLERS GAINED A NEW PARTNER IN 2021. IN ADDITION TO FLYING OVER 80+ SCHOOL KIDS AND WORKING WITH SCIENCE AND MATH TEACHERS, SOARING ACADEMY PARTNERED WITH THE LA POLICE DEPARTMENT NORTH HOLLYWOOD DIVISION TO HOST OUR FIRST EVER AVIATION WORKSHOP USING SEVERAL TYPES OF AIRCRAFT, A GLIDER, AND AN AIRPLANE IN ADDITION TO OUR FLIGHT SIMULATOR AT A LOS ANGELES AIRPORT FOR 30 TEENS IN A SPECIAL LAPD PROGRAM FOR AT RISK YOUTH CALLED "THE CADETS".
