NEIGHBORHOOD PLAYGARDEN IS A PARENT PARTICIPATION PRESCHOOL PROGRAM IN THE UPPER CASTRO/NOE AREA OF SAN FRANCISCO WHERE CHILDREN DEVELOP SKILLS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE A FIRM FOUNDATION FOR LATER SOCIAL AND ACADEMIC SUCCESS

WE ARE COMMITTED TO SUPPORTING SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY FOR SAN FRANCISCO'S FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN WHILE CREATING AN INCLUSIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT DESIGNED TO SUPPORT CHILDREN WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER AND OTHER SPECIAL NEEDS. WE NURTURE CHILDREN AND THEIR DEVELOPMENT OF EMPATHY AND SOCIAL SKILLS. EACH YEAR APPROXIMATELY 25% OF OUR STUDENTS HAVE IDENTIFIED SPECIAL NEEDS. MONTHLY PARENT PARTICIPATION IN OUR CLASSROOM IS BOTH A REQUIREMENT AND AN ADVANTAGE FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO BE MORE CLOSELY INVOLVED WITH THEIR YOUNG CHILD'S FIRST SCHOOL EXPERIENCES. WE PARTICIPATE IN PRESCHOOL FOR ALL THROUGH THE CITY OF SAN FRANCISCO AND OFFER FINANCIAL AID TO LOW AND MIDDLE INCOME FAMILIES THROUGH SAN FRANCISCO'S ELS (EARLY LEARNING SCHOLARSHIPS) PROGRAM. EACH YEAR APPROXIMATELY 30% OF OUR FAMILIES RECEIVE TUITION ASSISTANCE. OUR PARENT EDUCATION PROGRAM INCLUDES FAMILY CAMPING TWICE A YEAR, A ROBUST PARENT EDUCATION CURRICULUM, CRAFTING CLASSES AND PARENT COACHING. WE CELEBRATE THE NATURAL CYCLE OF THE YEAR THROUGH OUR OPEN FESTIVALS THAT TOUCH OVER 150 FAMILIES A YEAR IN THE WIDER COMMUNITY.
