THE ORGANIZATION PROMOTES EXCELLENCE IN THE SCHOLARLY STUDY OF FREEDOM, DEMOCRACY, AND CAPITALISM, AS THESE IDEAS WERE DEVELOPED AND INSTITUTIONALIZED IN THE UNITED STATES AND WITHIN THE LARGER TRADITION OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION. THE AHI ASPIRES TO CREATE AN EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT OF THE HIGHEST STANDARDS IN WHICH EVIDENCE AND ARGUMENT PREVAIL OVER IDEOLOGY.

Part 3 - Line 4a

CONVENTIONS - THE ORGANIZATION HOLDS AN ANNUAL COLLOQUIUM IN MID-APRIL TO DISCUSS AND STUDY IN DEPTH A SPECIFIC TOPIC OF INTEREST TO ITS CONSTITUENT GROUPS. THE EVENT IS HELD OVER A THREE-DAY PERIOD WITH A KEYNOTE SPEAKER AND SUBSEQUENT PANEL DISCUSSIONS. THE COLLOQIUM IS THE CORNERSTONE EVENT EVERY YEAR AND ATTRACTS STUDENTS AND OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY. IN ADDTION, OTHER CONVENTIONS ARE HELD AS/WHEN DEEMED NECESSARY.


SPECIAL STUDENT SOCIETIES AND SPEAKERS - THE AHI SUPPORTS SEVERAL STUDENT SOCIETIES AT HAMILTON COLLEGE (PUBLIS, DAWSON EDMUND BURKE SOCIETY, ETC) BY HOLDING EVENTS AT THE CLINTON NEW YORK OFFICES OF AHI WITH OUTSIDE SPEAKERS ON TOPICS RELATED TO THE STUDENTS' INTERESTS. THEY OFTEN INCLUDE PANEL DISCUSSIONS AND SOCIAL EVENTS DESIGNED TO FACILITATE THE INTERACTION OF THE STUDENTS WITH THE SPEAKERS. THERE ARE ALSO SEVERAL OUTSIDE SPEAKERS DURING THE YEAR SPEAKING ON TOPICS OF INTEREST. ALL THESE EVENTS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
