THE ORGANIZATIONS PRIMARY PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE RESOURCES AND SERVICES TO HENRY AND CLAYTON COUNTIES. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS, SCHOLARSHIPS AND SERVICES TO PROMOTE NUTRITION AND WELLNESS, WEALTH BUILDING, AND HIGHER EDUCATION.

Part 3 - Line 4a

SCPF ISSUED SIX SCHOLARSHIPS TOTALLING $10,000 TO HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS ATTENDING COLLEGE. THE RECEIPENTS WERE VALUED ON A MATRIX SYSTEM. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDED SEMINARS ON DIFFERENT TOPICS DEALING WITH HEALTH AND NUTRITION WELLNESS INCLUDING MENTAL HEALTH AND CANCER AWARENESS, AND FITNESS. THERE WAS ALSO SEMINAR TO STUDENTS ON FINANCIAL AID, COLLEGE APPLICATION COMPLETION, COLLEGE FAIRS AND SCHOLARSHIPS. GRANTS WERE GIVEN TO SHELTERS INCLUDING TELETHON FUNDS RAISED. EXPENSES WERE GIFT CARDS TO THE PRESENTERS AND PRIZES TO SOME OF THE STUDENT PARTICIPANTS WINNING CONTESTS. THE REVENUE FOR THESE EVENTS WERE RAISED IN PRIOR YEARS.


THE FOUNDATION HOSTED A BUSINESS EXPO, YOGA NIGHT, HBCU RACE, AND A TELA THON.


THE SCPF HAD A DEBUTANTE COTILLION PRODUCTION THIS YEAR. THERE WERE 2 HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS AND 15 HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR PARTICIPATES IN THE 5 MONTH PROGRAM THE YOUNG WOMEN AND MEN PARTICIPATED IN VARIOUS SEMINARS AND EDUCATIONAL EXCURSIONS. THEY ALSO LEARNED A DANCE ROUTINE AND PUT ON AN AWESOME PRODUCTION AT THE FOX THEATRE. THERE WERE 5 SCHOLARSHIPS WON BY PARTICIPANTS BASED ON A RUBRICS SCALE.


A $15,000 FRESH FOOD GRANT WAS RECEIVED FROM THE UNITED WAY FOR THE GRANT PERIOD COVERING SEPTEMBER 2023 - AUGUST 2024. THE GRANT WAS FOR A SOUTHERN CRESCENT F.E.E.D.S. (FOOD EQUITY EDUCATION DISTRIBUTION SUSTAINABILITY) PROGRAM. THE GRANT WAS A CHILDHOOD HUNGER INITIATIVE TO INCLUDE PLANTING AND MAINTAINING SIXTEEN FRUIT TREES, FOOD PANTRY DISTRIBUTION, AND LIVE HEALTHY COOKING FOOD DEMONSTRATIONS. DURING 2023, 75 FAMILIES WERE PROVIDED FOOD THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH A CHURCH FOOD PANTRY. ALSO DISTRIBUTED CHILDHOOD HUNGER PACKS FILLED WITH A SUPPLY OF WEEKEND MEALS AND SNACKS TO YOUTH AT NORTHCUTT ELEMENTARY AND HAMPTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. ADDITIONAL GRANT ACTIVITIES ARE SCHEDULED FOR 2024.
