THE NOT-FOR-PROFIT, NON-PARTISAN ORGANIZATION SUPPORTS SIX EDUCATIONAL ROBOTICS PROGRAMS WHICH OPERATE IN PUBLIC, PRIVATE, AND CHARTER SCHOOLS FROM ELEMENTARY THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL GRADE LEVELS. SIX MAJOR EVENTS/TOURNAMENTS WERE HOSTED IN THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR, AS WELL AS DOZENS OF REGIONAL AND DISTRICT QUALIFYING EVENTS. OVER 500 ROBOTICS TEAMS SERVICED THROUGH THESE PROGRAMS, WITH OVER 8,500 STUDENTS AND NEARLY 300 TEACHERS PARTICIPATING. AS A CRITICAL COMPONENT OF THE HAWAII INNOVATION INITIATIVE, THE ORGANIZATION'S EDUCATION ENGAGES STUDENTS IN SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, MATH (STEM) EDUCATION AND PROVIDES THEM WITH THE TEAMWORK, CRITICAL THINKING AND REAL WORLD PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS BENEFICIAL TO COMPETING IN THE 21ST CENTURY WORKPLACE. THE ORGANIZATION BELIEVES THAT BY STRENGTHENING THESE APTITUDES AND ABILITIES IN HAWAII'S YOUTH, THERE WILL BE A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR THE STATE OF HAWAII AND THE COUNTRY. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO SPENDS NUMEROUS VOLUNTEER TIME WORKING TO PROVIDE RESOURCES TO EDUCATORS AND STUDENTS INCLUDING SPECIFIC PROGRAM KITS OF PARTS FOR ROBOT CONSTRUCTION, TEACHER TRAINING, TOURNAMENTS FOR SHOWCASING STUDENT'S DESIGNS, AND REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS TO RECOGNIZE HIGH-CALIBER COMPETITION.
