THE SCIENCE COALITION IS ORGANIZED AND OPERATED EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROMOTION THE NATION'S SUPPORT FOR SCIENCE AND EDUCATING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND LEGISLATORS ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF FEDERALLY FUNDED UNIVERSITY RESEARCH.

THE SCIENCE COALITION PRESENTED THE CHAMPION OF SCIENCE AWARDS AT AN EVENT IN WASHINGTON, DC AND IN SOME STATES. THE AWARD RECOGNIZES MEMBERS OF CONGRESS WHOSE ACTIONS AND VOTES CONSISTENTLY REFLECT THEIR SUPPORT FOR FUNDAMENTAL SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH. THESE MEMBERS BELIEVE THAT FUNDAMENTAL SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH, CONDUCTED AT UNIVERSITIES AND NATIONAL LABS ACROSS THE COUNTRY, IS ESSENTIAL TO THE NATION'S ABILITY TO ADDRESS PRESSING ISSUES ACROSS A NUMBER OF POLICY AREAS INCLUDING HEALTH, SECURITY, ENERGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT.


TSC ENGAGED REGULARLY, WITH THIRD-PARTY STAKEHOLDERS INCLUDING BUSINESSES, THINK TANKS AND OTHER ADVOCACY ORGANIZATIONS TO HELP FORGE NEW PARTNERSHIPS THAT HELPED RAISE COALITION'S PROFILE AND ELEVATE THE IMPORTANCE OF FEDERAL RESEARCH FUNDING WITH KEY LAWMAKERS. TSC JOINED THE TASK FORCE ON AMERICAN INNOVATION TO FURTHER IT'S MISSION.


THE SCIENCE COALITION HOSTED NUMEROUS COALITION AND STAKEHOLDER MEETINGS, VIRTUAL, THROUGHOUT THE YEAR THAT BROUGHT TOGETHER THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY, STAKEHOLDERS, AND OTHER RELEVANT VOICES TO DISCUSS THE VALUE OF SCIENCE. ACTIVITIES INCLUDED HEADLINER MEETINGS AND BRIEFINGS BY KEY AGENCIES.


TSC HAD ROBUST COMMUNICATIONS ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR INCLUDING ISSUING MEDIA STATEMENTS, PUBLISHING OP-EDS, ENGAGING IN SOCIAL MEDIA, AND PAID SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGNS WITH NEW INFOGRAPHICS. THIS PROGRAM ALSO INCLUDES THE PROMOTION OF A STUDENT VIDEO CHALLENGE, EDUCATING AND DELIVERING THE VALUE OF FUNDAMENTAL RESEARCH DIRECTLY FROM UNIVERSITY RESEARCHERS.
