Part 3

THE PRIMARY VEHICLE FOR SPIRITUAL RENEWAL IS TWO SPIRITUAL RETREATS HELD IN THE FALL AND THE SPRING EACH YEAR. THE PROGRAM IS BUILT AROUND PRAYING, SINGING, WORSHIP, EATING MEALS TOGETHER AND 15 TALKS GIVEN OVER A THREE-DAY PERIOD. EACH RETREAT FOLLOWS THE SAME PATTERN. EACH RETREAT BEGINS THURSDAY EVENING AND ENDS ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON. DURING THE RETREAT 30-36 PILGRIMS AND 40+ STAFF INTERACT THROUGH PRAYER, WORSHIP, SINGING, TALKS, MEALS, AND ACTIVITIES. BY THE END OF THE 3-DAY RETREAT A COMMUNITY HAS BEEN FORMED. PILGRIMS RETURN TO THEIR HOME CHURCHES INSPIRED AND EQUIPPED TO LOVE AND SERVE JESUS IN THEIR CONTEXT, BUT ALSO WITH A LARGE GROUP OF NEW FRIENDS. AFTER THE RETREAT, THROUGHOUT THE YEAR ALL MEMBERS WHO HAVE ATTENDED A RETREAT ARE ENCOURAGED TO MEET QUARTERLY FOR A REUNION (CALLED ULTREYA) AT A CHURCH IN OUR STATE TO RENEW THE BONDS OF FRIENDSHIP, SHARE A MEAL, AND WORSHIP TOGETHER.
