THE MISSION OF THE AFRICAN AMERICAN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER FOUNDATION IS TO PRESERVE, NURTURE AND SUPPORT THE INTELLECTUAL AND CULTURAL HISTORY OF AFRICAN AMERICANS IN NEW MEXICO AND THE SOUTHWEST.

I. MANAGEMENT OF THE BUILDING THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT BOOKED AND SENT RENTALS INFORMATION TO EXPO MONTHLY. FINANCIAL SPECIALIST PAID EXPO THEIR PERCENTAGE. THE CONTRACTORS ADVERTISED ON SOCIAL MEDIA, PRINT, RADIO, AND MARQUEE. CONTRACTORS ENSURED THAT ALL RENTERS HAD ACCESS TO ENTRANCE AND PARKING PASSES. THE CONTRACTORS OVERSEE ALL EVENTS FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END OF EACH EVENT. A FOLLOW-UP CALL WITH EACH RENTER REGARDING THEIR EXPERIENCE AT AAPAC: THE RENTERS INCLUDE THE TEDX 2-DAY SELL-OUT EVENT AND THE AFRICAN AMERICAN CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE WITH 300 ATTENDEES. THERE IS AN ONGOING UPDATING AND REPAIRS IN THE BUILDING AS NEEDED. THE CLASSROOMS, GREENROOM, EXHIBIT HALL, AND HALLWAYS WERE ALL RE-PAINTED. A THEATER SPECIALIST EVALUATED THE CURRENT LIGHTS AND OPERATING SYSTEM IN THE THEATER. A PLAN FOR UPGRADING WAS DEVELOPED BASED ON HIS RECOMMENDATION. COMPUTERS AND UP-TO-DATE WIFI HAVE BEEN INSTALLED. THE ROOF WAS REPAIRED FROM LEAKING. II. AAPAC CONTRACTORS HAVE CONTINUE TO OUTREACH AROUND THE STATE TO FULFILL ITS MISSION: AFRICAN AMERICAN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER FOUNDATION IS TO PRESERVE, NURTURE AND SUPPORT THE INTELLECTUAL AND CULTURAL HISTORY OF AFRICAN AMERICANS IN NEW MEXICO AND THE SOUTHWEST. TWO EXHIBITS, "SHADES OF GREATNESS" NEGRO BASEBALL LEAGUE, FROM KANSAS BASEBALL MUSEUMS, AND "PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE," FEATURING BLACK ARTISTS OF ALL AGES. VISITORS/MEMBERS FOR BOTH EXHIBITS WERE 734 YOUTH GOSPEL AND CLASSICAL SHOWCASE" WITH THE RENOWNED WALL GROUP 54 YOUTHS FROM AROUND THE STATE PARTICIPATED. 24 YOUTHS ENROLLED IN THE SUMMER ARTS AND LITERATURE PROGRAM. COLLABORATED WITH ARTRAGEOUS WITH 30 STUDENTS FOR TWO-WEEKS ART AND PERFORMANCES. COLLABORATED WITH PUBLIC BROADCASTING SYSTEMS, ALBUQUERQUE PUBLIC SCHOOLS, AND MARTIN LUTHER KING COMMISSION FOR A FILM/FORM, "AMERICAN DREAM." AFRIQUERQUE SUMMER SERIES CONCERTS. GAVE 50 HOLIDAY FOOD BASKETS AND 50.00 GIFT CERTIFICATES TO FAMILIES IN THE INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT COLLABORATED WITH COOL JAZZ FOR TWO JAZZ CONCERT TOTAL TICKETS SOLD WERE 569. RECEIVED TWO GRANTS: CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE, NM ARTS PROGRAM. COLLABRATED WITH NEW MEXICO BLACK CULTURE MUSEUM FOR HOMESTEAD EXHIBIT. COLLABRATED WITH NEW MEXICO JAZZ CLASSES FOR 23-24.
