TO SAVE ENDANGERED WILD ORANGUTANS THROUGH CONSERVATION EDUCATION, OUTREACH AND INNOVATIVE COLLABORATIVE PROGRAMS THAT INSPIRE AND CALL PEOPLE TO ACTION.

THE ORANGUTAN PROJECT. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES GRANTS TO THE ORANGUTAN PROJECT, AN AUSTRALIAN ORGANIZATION, TO SUPPORT ORANGUTAN CONSERVATION, CRITICAL HABITAT PROTECTION, ORANGUTAN CARE CENTERS, AND REHABILITATION AND RELEASE PROGRAMS ON BORNEO AND SUMATRA.


COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND CONSERVATION PROGRAM. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES GRANTS TO SUPPORT LOCAL COMMUNITY ORANGUTAN EDUCATION AND CONSERVATION EFFORTS IN SUMATRA. IN 2022 5 SEPARATE GRANTS WERE MADE IN SUPPORT OF THIS PROGRAM. HUNDREDS OF LOCAL SCHOOL CHILDREN, OFFICIALS AND VILLAGERS BENEFITED FROM THIS PROGRAM.


ORANGUTAN CARING SCHOLARSHIPS. UNDER THIS PROGRAM THE FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS TO SUPPORT CONSERVATION EFFORTS. IN 2022, THOSE PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS PROVIDED 28 SUCH SCHOLARSHIPS, 12 TO STUDENTS IN NORTH SUMATRA ACEH, SIX TO STUDENTS IN WEST KALIMANTAN, SIX IN CENTRAL KALIMANTAN AND FOUR IN EAST KALIMANTAN.
