DIRECT PATIENT FINANCIAL AID DURING CANCER TREATMENT INCLUDING HELP WITH LIVING EXPENSES SUCH AS RENT & MOTGAGE ASSISTANCE, MEDICAL CO-PAYMENTS, HEALTH INSURANCE PREMIUMS, UTILITIES, AUTO PAYMENTS & INSURANCE, FOOD & GAS COUCHERS, LIMITED TREATMENT AND PRESCRIPTION REIMBURSEMENT.
PEDIATRIC PROGRAM: FUNDING FOR THIS PROGRAM IS USED TO PROVIDE CARE TO CHILDREN UNDERGOING CANCER TREATMENT AT MILLER CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, AND THE PEDIATRIC ONCOLOGY UNITS AT UCLA MATTEL, CHLA AND CHOC. IN A EFFORT TO ENHACE COMMUNICATION OF PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL NEEDS, AS WELL AS INCREASE SELF-ESTEEM, ART THERAPY COMPONENTS OF THE PEDIATRIC PROGRAM ARE EMPLOYED AT MILLER CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL AND UCLA MATTEL. A FINAL PROGRAM COMPONENT INVOLVUES TUITION AWARDS FOR COLLEGE-BOUND TEENS WITH CANCER, HELPING STUDENT-PATIENTS ACHIEVE THEIR EDUCATIONAL AND CAREER GOALS WITHOUT ADDED FINANCIAL BURDEN.
