GIRLS INC. OF SARASOTA COUNTY HAS BEEN NAMED AN OUTSTANDING AFFILIATE THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA, AS WELL AS ACHIEVING THE COVETED 4-STAR RATING FROM CHARITY NAVIGATOR. WE ACHIEVED THESE DISTINCTIONS THROUGH CENTER-BASED AND OUTREACH AFTERSCHOOL AND SUMMER PROGRAMMING THAT IS RESEARCH-BASED AND AGE APPROPRIATE. OUR PRIMARY GOALS FOCUS ON MATH/SCIENCE/TECHNOLOGY, CAREER AND LIFE PLANNING, HEALTH AND SEXUALITY, LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNITY ACTION, SPORTS AND ADVENTURE, SELF RELIANCE AND LIFE SKILLS, AND CULTURE/HERITAGE. PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO SERVE ALL GIRLS REGARDLESS OF THEIR SOCIO-ECONOMIC, ETHNIC, OR RELIGIOUS BACKGROUNDS. FOR OVER FORTY YEARS, GIRLS INC. OF SARASOTA COUNTY HAS PROVIDED VITAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS TO THOUSANDS OF GIRLS. GIRLS INC.'S INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS HELP GIRLS CONFRONT SUBTLE SOCIETAL MESSAGES ABOUT THEIR VALUE AND POTENTIAL, AND PREPARE THEM TO LEAD SUCCESSFUL, INDEPENDENT AND HEALTHY LIVES.
