SEE SCHEDULE ONPC CONDUCTED ADVOCACY THROUGH STREET CANVASSING, PHONE CALLS, EMAILS AND PUBLIC EVENTS TO SUPPORT A NATIONAL AGENDA FOR LOW AND MIDDLE-INCOME AMERICANS. PROGRAMS FOCUSED ON BUILDING PUBLIC AND LEGISLATIVE SUPPORT FOR POLICIES THAT ADVANCE RACIAL JUSTICE AND CORPORATE ACCOUNTABILITY. KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS: 1) THROUGH A STREET CANVASS, ASKING PEOPLE TO LOBBY THEIR STATE LEGISLATORS FOR CLOSURE OF CORPORATE TAX LOOPHOLES IN THE ILLINOIS TAX CODE. 2) THROUGH PUBLIC EVENTS, ADVOCATING FOR THE REPEAL OF LAWS THAT PLACE UNDUE RESTRICTIONS ON VOTING AND REGISTERING TO VOTE. 3) NPC, IN CONJUNCTION WITH OTHER STATE AND LOCAL SOCIAL WELFARE ORGANIZATIONS, CONDUCTED TRAINING PROGRAMS TO DEVELOP VOLUNTEER-BASED DIRECT GRASSROOTS CONTACT PROGRAMS, EXPANDING OUTREACH CAPACITY IN FIVE STATES INCLUDING COLORADO, ILLINOIS, MAINE, MICHIGAN AND NEVADA.
