STO-ROX NEIGHBORHOOD CORPORATION IS ORGANIZED FOR THE IMPROVEMENT AND BETTERMENT OF THE SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL, HEALTH, AND CULTURAL ENVIRONMENTS OF THE MCKEES ROCKS BORO/STOWE TOWNSHIP NEIGHBORHOODS. ITS MISSION, THROUGH ITS PROGRAMS AND PARTNERSHIPS, IS TO CONNECT CHILDREN, ADULTS, AND FAMILIES WITH RELATIONSHIPS, RESOURCES, AND OPPORTUNITIES, TO DEVELOP AND SUSTAIN A THRIVING COMMUNITY.

Part 3 - Line 4a

FAMILY SERVICES - A COMPREHENSIVE SET OF PROGRAM SERVICES TO FAMILIES OF THE STO-ROX COMMUNITY AS FOLLOWS: -POSITIVE PARENTING - A PROGRAM FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN FROM BIRTH TO AGE FIVE. THE GOAL OF THE PROGRAM IS TO PREVENT CHILD ABUSE AND HELP CHILDREN AND FAMILIES TRANSITION INTO THE SCHOOL SYSTEM BY IMPROVING THE PARENT-CHILD RELATIONSHIP. APPROXIMATELY 120 INDIVIDUALS SERVED. -FAMILY FOUNDATIONS - A FEDERALLY FUNDED EARLY HEAD START PROGRAM INVOLVING 55 FAMILIES IN THE AREA. -COMMUNITY SERVICES - PROVIDES COUNSELING, INFORMATION AND REFERRAL; SHELTER, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND CRISIS CARE FOR CITIZENS IN THE AREA. THE COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER ALSO HOUSES MULTIPLE PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS PROVIDING LINKAGES AND COUNSELING FOR VARIOUS NEED.
