THE COVID-19 EDUCATION PROJECT GATHERED AND DISSEMINATED INFORMATION ON A SPECIAL ONLINE COLLECTION TO HELP FINANCIALLY VULNERABLE CONSUMERS DEAL WITH WAGE LOSS, HOUSING INSECURITY, AND THE OTHER CHALLENGES CREATED BY THE CRISIS. THE PROJECT IS AIMED AT PROVIDING CONSUMERS-PARTICULARLY LOW- AND MODERATE-INCOME WORKERS, LIMITED-ENGLISH SPEAKERS AND OTHER HARD-HIT COMMUNITIES-WITH ESSENTIAL INFORMATION AND VALUABLE RESOURCES THAT COULD HELP THEM COPE WITH THE FINANCIAL FALLOUT DURING THE PANDEMIC. FUNDING FROM A VARIETY OF CORPORATE CONTRIBUTIONS WAS USED (WELLS FARGO; CAPITAL ONE; BANK OF AMERICA).


THE AT&T PROJECT (AKA AFFORDABLE CONNECTIVITY PROJECT) EDUCATES AND EMPOWERS CONSUMERS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO HELP LOW- AND MODERATE-INCOME CONSUMERS APPLY FOR SUBSIDIES FOR CELL PHONE AND BROADBAND INTERNET ADMINISTERED BY THE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION AND THE STATES.


GENERAL IN GENERAL, ALL OF THE PROJECTS TAKEN ON OR CONTINUED BY CONSUMER ACTION DURING FY 2021-22 AIM TO EMPOWER AND EDUCATE CONSUMERS WITH FACT SHEETS, FREE WEBINARS AND INFORMATION ABOUT AVAILABLE RESOURCES. THE SPECIFIC AREAS INCLUDE FINANCIAL TECHNOLOGY (FUNDING FROM TCH-THE CLEARINGHOUSE, WELLS FARGO-WF AND PLAID); PRIVACY (ROSE FOUNDATION AND COURT AWARDS-AKA "PHONE CY PRES-; AND FINANCIAL LITERACY (HOUSING, IB INSURANCE, FICO).
