SCHOLARSHIPS ARE GIVEN TO DESERVING STUDENTS OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE IN ORDER TO HELP THEM ACHIEVE THEIR EDUCATIONAL GOALS. 11 SCHOLARSHIPS WERE PROVIDED LAST YEAR.


THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES MEDICAL EDUCATION TO THE OSTEOPATHIC MEDICAL COMMUNITY AT AN ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL SEMINAR. APPROXIMATELY 1,300 PROFESSIONALS ATTENDED THE SEMINAR LAST YEAR. THE POMA FOUNDATION SUPPORTS HIGH QUALITY CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION BY GRANTING POMA ACCREDIDATION.


THE ORGANIZATION SUPPLIES STETHOSCOPES FREE OF CHARGE TO ALL FIRST YEAR OSTEOPATHIC STUDENTS ENROLLED IN PA OSTEOPATHIC MEDICAL SCHOOLS AND PA RESIDENTS IN OTHER OSTEOPATHIC MEDICAL SCHOOLS. STETHOSCOPES WERE HANDED OUT IN THE NEXT FISCAL YEAR.


THE ORGANIZATION BEGAN THE RESIDENCY MENTAL HEALTH GRANT PROGRAM TO HELP PA RESIDENCY PROGRAMS TO PROVIDE MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROJECTS/PROGRAMS TO THEIR RESIDENTS. THE FOUNDATION WANTED TO START THE CONVERSATION ABOUT PHYSICIAN WELL-BEING THROUGH DISCUSSION AND TEAM-BUILDING ACTIVITIES TO ADDRESS AND PROVIDE INFORMATION AND RESOURCES REGARDING MENTAL HEALTH. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED 4,500 IN SUPPORT OF THIS RESEARCH.
