PROVIDE SUPPORT TO AND FOR THOSE, WHO BY REASON OF AGE, MISFORTUNE OR INFIRMITY, HAVE A CLAIM UPON SYMPATHY AND CHARITY OF THEIR FELLOW MAN; AND SUPPORT THE ESTABLISHED AND MAINTAINED CHARITABLE INSTITUTIONS AND OPERATIONS FOR THE REFLIEF OF MANKIND.
FREEMASONRY INCLUDES IN ITS RITUAL, ANDEXEMPLIFIES BY ITS DEGREES, EDUCATION TO THE GREAT MORAL PRINCIPLES OF CHARIT, TEMPERANCE, TOLERANCE, TRUTH AND JUSTICE; AND BY A SYSTEMIC PROGRAM OF EDUCATION. TEACHES THE PRINCIPLES OF PATRIOTISM AND THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF CITIZENSHIP.
THE VOLUME OF SACRED LAW IS OPENED UPON THE ALTAR, AND IS AN INDISPENSABLE FURNISHING OF EVERY LODGE; EVERY MEETING IS OPENED AND CLOSED WITH PRAYER, INVOKING THE BLESSING OF DEITY; EVERY MASON IS BOUND BY HIS TENURE TO OBEY THE MORAL LAW AND LIVE BY THE ETERNAL VIRTUES OF CHARITY, TEMPERANCE, TOLERANCE, TRUTH AND JUSTICE.
