WMEA PROVIDES INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS SUCH AS ASPIRING MUSIC MAJORS THAT INSPIRE FUTURE MUSIC EDUCATORS. WMEA'S MAIN GOALS ARE TO BE AN INVALUABLE AND SUPPORTIVE LEAD RESOURCE FOR THE ADVOCACY OF MUSIC EDUCATION IN WISCONSIN; ATTRACT AND RETAIN FORWARD THINKING MUSIC EDUCATORS; PROVIDE & INSPIRE MUSIC EDUCATORS WITH OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEANINGFUL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, AND SUPPORT LIFELONG LEARNING IN MUSIC. OUR FOUR LARGEST COMMITTEES ARE: COMPREHENSIVE MUSICIANSHIP THROUGH PERFORMANCE PROFESSIONAL LEARNING, ADVOCACY ABOUT THE VALUE OF A WELL- ROUNDED EDUCATION, ILISTEN WI CURRICULAR MATERIALS FOR TEACHERS, AND WMEA STANDARDS TO ENSURE HIGH-QUALITY MUSIC EDUCATION RESOURCES FOR TEACHERS.


WMEA INVESTS IN WISCONSIN MUSIC EDUCATORS BY HOLDING AN ANNUAL WISCONSIN STATE MUSIC CONFERENCE. THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE IS HELD OVER A FOUR DAY PERIOD EVERY FALL.
