THE OBJECTIVES OF THIS ORGANIZATION INCLUDE PROVIDING A COLLECTIVE VOICE FOR SPORTS PR AND COMMUNICATIONS PROFESSIONALS IN PROMOTING THE IMAGE OF THEIR INSTITUTIONS AND THEIR PROFESSION BOTH INTERNALLY AND EXTERNALLY; ENCOURAGING DISCUSSIONS OF ISSUES AND EXCHANGE OF IDEAS THAT IMPACT AND ENHANCE THE IMAGE OF THEIR INSTITUTIONS AND THE ROLE OF SPORTS PR AND COMMUNICATIONS PROFESSIONALS; PROVIDING HELPFUL INFORMATION TO SPORTS PR AND COMMUNICATIONS PROFESSIONALS VIA VARIOUS WORKSHOPS, NEWSLETTERS, DIRECTORIES, SURVEYS, STUDIES, WEBSITES, ETC.; PROVIDING AND ENCOURAGING AN EMPHASIS ON DIVERSITY IN THE AREAS OF GENDER, RACE AND DIVISIONAL REPRESENTATION; PROVIDING IDEAS AND RESOURCES TO ENHANCE CURRENT AND DEVELOP NEW RECOGNITION PROGRAMS FOR COLLEGIATE STUDENT-ATHLETES AND ATHLETIC PROFESSIONALS; ALIGNING WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS WHOSE MISSIONS ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE ORGANIZATION.
