THE INSTITUTE FOR CANCER RESEARCH AND ITS RESEARCH PROGRAMS ARE RENOWNED WORLD-WIDE FOR THEIR WORK IN UNDERSTANDING BOTH NORMAL AND ABNORMAL CELL GROWTH. SCIENTISTS ARE INVOLVED IN STUDIES OF GENES THAT CAUSE OR INHIBIT CANCER GROWTH, VIROLOGY, IMMUNOLOGY, CHEMICAL CARCINOGENS, CELL GROWTH AND INTERACTION AND GENE EXPRESSION. IN RECENT YEARS, RESEARCH HAS INCREASINGLY EMPHASIZED MOLECULAR ONCOLOGY AND GENETICS, AREAS WHICH BRIDGE ADVANCING KNOWLEDGE FROM THE LABORATORY WITH NEW CLINICAL APPROACHES.


THE RESEARCH FACILITIES HAVE BEEN STRUCTURED TO FULFILL THE NEEDS OF THE MULTI-DISCIPLINARY RESEARCH PROGRAMS AT FOX CHASE CANCER CENTER. THE FACILITIES HAVE BEEN DESIGNED TO ENHANCE ONGOING RESEARCH BY SUPPLYING INFORMATION, REAGENTS, AND TECHNICAL EXPERTISE THAT ARE NOT READILY AVAILABLE TO THE INDIVIDUAL INVESTIGATOR.
