GREATER PHILADELPHIA CONCERT SERIES: TDM IS THE ONLY PERMANENT ROSTERED BAROQUE ORCHESTRA IN PENNSYLVANIA. EACH OF OUR ANNUAL FIVE HOME CONCERTS IS CURATED AROUND UNIFIRED PROGRAMATIC IDEAS. RECENT PROGRAMS FOCUSED ON MUSIC WRITTEN FOR AND PREFORMED BY THE ALL-WOMAN ARTISTS AT BAROQUE VENICES ORPHANAGES, AND EXPLORED MUSICANS WHO TRAVELED TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES WHERE THEY BECAME IMIGRANTS AND ADOPTED NEW MUSICAL STYLES OR REMAINED EXPATS. AT TIMES, THOSE THEMES BECAME SEASON-LONG EXPLORATIONS OF THE BAROQUE ERAS MOST FAMOUS WORKS, SUCH AS BACHS BRANDENBURG CONCERTOS AND VIVALDIS THE FOUR SEASONS, PROGRAMMED ALONGSIDE LARGELY UNFAMILIAR MUSIC THAT INSPIRED AND SURROUNDED THEM, OR THEY EXPLORE A DISTINCT STYLE OF MUSIC, SUCH AS OUR TWO SEASON, 8 CONCERT PROJECTCOMEDIE ET TRAGEDIE: FRENCH ORCHESTRAL MUSIC OF BACH-CONTEMPORARY JOHANN FREIDRICH FASCH. MANY OF OUR PROJECTS INCLUDED MONDERN-TIME WORLD, AND U.S. PREMIERES OF WORKS NOT PERFORMED SINCE THE 17TH AND 18TH CENTURIES. TOURS:TEMPESTA DI MARE HAS TOURED ACROSS THE US AND ON FIVE EUROPEAN TOURS. NOTABLE APPEARANCES HAVE INCLUDED THE GOTTINGEN HANDEL FESTIVAL (GERMANY), THE INTERNATIONAL TELEMANN FESTIVAL (MAGDEBURG, GERMANY), THE PRAGUE SPRING FESTIVAL (CZECH REPUBLIC), A PERFORMANCE AT THE BERLIN PHILHARMONIC HALL, AND RETURN PERFORMANCES AT THE INTERNATIONAL FASCH FESTIVAL (ZERBST, GERMANY), WHERE THE ENSEMBLE RECEIVED THE IMPORTANT FASCH PRIZE IN 2023. RECENT US ENGAGEMENTS HAVE INCLUDED A RETURN PERFORMANCE AT NEW YORKS FRICK COLLECTION, THE NATIONAL GALLERY AND AT THE FOLGER SHAKESPEARE LIBRARY IN WASHINGTON DC. THE ENSEMBLE HAS ALSO APPEARED AT THE MIAMI BEACH FESTIVAL, NEW ENGLAND EARLY MUSIC FESTIVAL, THE SORAYA (LOS ANGELES, CA), INDIANAPOLIS BAROQUE FESTIVAL, AND THE CORNELL AND HARTFORD UNIVERSITIES CONCERT SERIES.
RECORDINGS AND BROADCASTS: IN A MARKETPLACE DOMINATED BY EUROPEAN ENSEMBLES, TEMPESTA IS THE ONLY AMERICAN BAROQUE MUSIC GROUP TO RECORD FOR THE PRESTIGIOUS BRITISH LABEL CHANDOS, WITH WHOM WE HAVE HAD AND EXCLUSIVE RECORDING CONTRACT SINCE 2004. OUR CURRENT CATALOGUE INCLUDES TWELVE CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED CDS, WHICH ARE SOLD AND BROADCAST AROUND TEH WORLD. OUR CONCERT AUDIO CAN BE HEARD ON RADIO STATIONS ACROSS THE U.S. ON A DAILY BASIS ON SHOWS SUCH AS PERFORMANCE TODAY, SUNDAY BAROQUE AND MANY OTHERS.
