IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MISSION TO ENHANCE AND PROTECT THE HISTORICAL SITE, THE HIGHLANDS HISTORICAL SOCIETY 1. CONDUCTS TOURS OF THE MANSION AND GARDENS. TELLING THE STORY OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROPERTY AND THE THREE INTRIGUING FAMILIES WHO LIVED AT THE HIGHLANDS FROM 1796-1970. 2. PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS CUSTOMIZED TO SUIT ANY PARTICULAR GRADE LEVEL AND THE PROGRAMS MEET STATE EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS. 3. SERVES AS A VENUE FOR PRIVATE RENTALS TO RAISE FUNDS TO SUPPORT THE PRESERVATION OF THE HIGHLANDS. THE HIGHLANDS HISTORICAL SOCIETY IS ALSO RESTORING THE 2 ACRE FORMAL GARDEN, KNOWN AS THE SINKLER GARDEN, TO ITS APPEARANCE C. 1925-1935.
