SOUDERTON MENNONITE HOMES OPERATES AND MAINTAINS HOUSING FOR SENIOR ADULTS AND PROVIDES, ON A NONPROFIT BASIS, HOUSING FACILITIES AND SERVICES SPECIALLY DESIGNED TO MEET THE SPIRITUAL, PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, SOCIAL, AND PSYCHOLOGICAL NEEDS OF AGING. SOUDERTON MENNONITE HOMES CONTRIBUTES TO RESIDENTS' HEALTH, SECURITY, HAPPINESS, AND USEFULNESS IN LONGER LIVING AND ENGAGES THEM IN PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO PROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE THEIR WELLBEING.THE ORGANIZATION ACCOMPLISHES THIS PURPOSE BY PROVIDING HOUSING, NURSING, REHABILITATION, AND OTHER RELATED SERVICES TO COMMUNITY MEMBERS THROUGH THE OPERATION OF A 71-BED SKILLED NURSING FACILITY, A 22-BED PERSONAL CARE FACILITY FOR PERSONS WITH DEMENTIA (PARK VIEW), AN 87-UNIT PERSONAL CARE FACILITY, AS WELL AS A 196-UNIT RESIDENTIAL LIVING UNIT CONTAINING APARTMENTS, COTTAGES, AND VILLAS. DURING THE REPORT PERIOD, 54,765 DAYS OF MEDICAL CARE WERE PROVIDED, COVERING 253 PEOPLE. OF THAT GROUP, 61 PEOPLE RECEIVED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM EITHER MEDICAID OR FACILITY-FUNDED BENEVOLENT CARE. THE TOTAL COST OF UNFUNDED AND BENEVOLENT CARE WAS $2,549,559; 277. RESIDENTS WERE PROVIDED CARE IN THE RESIDENTIAL LIVING UNIT DURING THE 12-MONTH PERIOD.
