Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE CAMDEN CONFERENCE, A 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION LOCATED IN MIDCOAST MAINE, IS A FOREIGN AFFAIRS CITIZENS CONFERENCE IN THE U.S. ITS MISSION IS TO FOSTER INFORMED DISCOURSE ON WORLD ISSUES. AN ANNUAL 3-DAY CONFERENCE HELD EACH FEBRUARY IN CAMDEN FOCUSES ON A DIFFERENT TOPIC EACH YEAR. NOW IN ITS 35TH YEAR, THE CONFERENCE HAS BECOME A MAINE TRADITION THAT OFFERS AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN FROM AND ENGAGE WITH LEADING EXPERTS ON VITAL GLOBAL ISSUES. THE CAMDEN CONFERENCE IS ENTIRELY VOLUNTEER-DRIVEN WITH ONLY TWO PAID STAFF, AND RELIES ON VOLUNTEERS WHO HAVE CREATED AND SUSTAIN ITS YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS AND THE CONFERENCE WEEKEND.IN 2022, ONCE AGAIN DUE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC, THE CONFERENCE WAS PRESENTED VIRTUALLY ONLY. SPEAKERS BROADCAST PRESENTATIONS FROM THEIR HOMES OR OFFICES IN THEIR HOME COUNTRIES AND INSTEAD OF HOSTING OUR AUDIENCES IN LOCAL THEATER VENUES, PRESENTATIONS WERE STREAMED DIRECTLY TO PARTICIPANTS HOMES. IN 2022, WE AGAIN OFFERED VIRTUAL ACCESS TO THE CONFERENCE TO STUDENTS WORLD-WIDE AT NO CHARGE. WE ALSO SPONSORED A GATHERING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MAINE, ORONO, OF COLLEGE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS INVOLVED IN CAMDEN CONFERENCE TOPIC-BASED CLASSES TO WATCH THE LIVESTREAM OF THE CONFERENCE TOGETHER. THE CAMDEN CONFERENCE ALSO OFFERS A ROBUST PROGRAM OF FREE COMMUNITY EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. ALSO HELD VIRTUALLY IN 2022, THESE ARE PARTICULARLY NOTEWORTHY AS WE WERE ABLE TO OFFER MORE OF THEM AND EXPAND OUR GEOGRAPHIC AREA THANKS TO ZOOM TECHNOLOGY. OUR PROGRAMMING ENJOYED AN EXTREMELY LARGE AUDIENCE, PARTIALLY DUE TO VIEWERS WHO WERE ABLE TO WATCH THE RECORDED PROGRAMS AFTER THE EVENT ON OUR WEBSITE.
