A PROUD KEEP AMERICA BEAUTIFUL AFFILIATE, WE CONVENE, EQUIP AND EMPOWER PEOPLE TO USE COMMUNITY BEAUTIFICATION TO ACHIEVE VIBRANT NEIGHBORHOODS. WE COLLABORATE, EDUCATE AND PROVIDE RESOURCES TO IGNITE COLLECTIVE ACTION AND NEIGHBORHOOD PRIDE.

Part 3 - Line 4a
(1) EDUCATION: WE PROVIDE IN-CLASSROOM WORKSHOPS ON LITTER, RECYCLING & COMPOSTING FOR PHILADELPHIA STUDENTS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND CITY GOVERNMENT. LAST YEAR, WE REACHED APPROXIMATELY 4,500 YOUNG PHILADELPHIANS THROUGH THIS PROGRAM. WE ALSO PROVIDE CIVIC EDUCATION FOR RESIDENTS OF ALL AGES, FOCUSED ON ACCESSING MUNICIPAL PROGRAMS AND RESOURCES, AND HOW TO RECYCLE CORRECTLY.
(2) CONVENING: WE WORK WITH THE PHILADELPHIA ASSOICATION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATIONS AND CITY GOVERNMENT TO CONVENE NEIGHBORHOOD LEADERS QUARTERLY TO WORK TOGETHER TO COMBAT LITTER AND PROMOTE RECYCLING / CIVIC ENGAGEMENT. WE HAVE HAD APPROXIMATELY 40 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROFESSIONALS ATTEND EACH OF OUR SESSIONS.
(3) COMMUNITY CLEANUPS: IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NEIGHBORHOOD BASED ORGANIZATIONS, WE PLAN COMMUNITY CLEANUP OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT PHILADELPHIA. LAST YEAR ALONE, WE ENGAGED CLOSE TO 500 VOLUNTEERS AND REMOVED APPROXIMATELY 14,500 POUNDS OF DEBRIS FROM OUR PUBLIC SPACES.
