AT THE HEART OF VALLEY HEALTH SERVICES, INC. IS OUR COMMITMENT TO PROVIDING ACCESS TO A CONTINUUM OF LONG-TERM CARE SERVICES WHEN FAMILIES NEED IT. IN AN EFFORT TO PROVIDE QUALITY, PERSON-CENTERED CARE AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF OUR RESIDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES,WE ENSURE OUR RESIDENTS A HOME-LIKE ENVIRONMENT SO THEY CAN EXPERIENCE COMFORT AND PRIVACY. INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT SERVICES ARE OFFERED TO THE RESIDENTS OF HERKIMER AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES.

EVOLVING FROM A 32-BED TO A 160-BED, LONG-TERM CARE AND REHABILITATIVE FACILITY SINCE ITS FOUNDING IN 1984, VALLEY HEALTH SERVICES, INC. IS A MAJOR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER AND VITAL COMMUNITY ASSET. THE PRIVATELY OWNED, NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION LOCATED IN HERKIMER, NEW YORK, PROVIDES CARE TO A LARGELY RURAL POPULATION AND IS THE EIGHTH LARGEST EMPLOYER IN HERKIMER COUNTY.A COMFORTABLE, HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT WITH QUALIFIED STAFF WHO PLACE AN EQUAL EMPHASIS ON MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT DEFINES THE CARE AT VALLEY HEALTH SERVICES INC. SERVICES AVAILABLE INCLUDE:- SKILLED NURSING, LONG-TERM CARE- SHORT-TERM INPATIENT REHABILITATION AND SUBACUTE CARE PHYSICAL THERAPY OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SPEECH THERAPY WOUND CARE IV THERAPY- OUTPATIENT REHABILITATION PHYSICAL THERAPY OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY CARDIAC REHABILITATION SPEECH THERAPY OSTEOPOROSIS MANAGEMENT- THE 12 SLOT ONSITE ADULT DAY CARE MEDICAL PROGRAM AND AN 18 SLOT OFFSITE MEDICAL MODEL ADULT DAY CARE PROGRAM IN LITTLE FALLS WAS CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC. OPERATIONS HAVE NOT RESUMED TO DATE. SPEECH THERAPY, IV THERAPY, CARDIAC REHABILITATION, PALLIATIVE CARE, AND OSTEOPOROSIS MANAGEMENT ARE UNIQUE SERVICES TO THE GREATER HERKIMER AREA AVAILABLE AT VALLEY HEALTH SERVICES INC.APPROXIMATELY 54% VALLEY HEALTH SERVICES, INC. REVENUE IS DERIVED FROM MEDICAID. AS SUCH, VALLEY HEALTH SERVICES, INC. INCURS AN APPROXIMATE SHORTFALL OF $63 PER PATIENT DAY REIMBURSED BY THE NEW YORK STATE MEDICAID SYSTEM. VHS HAS AN IN-HOUSE "NEEDY RESIDENT" FUND PROVIDES MONEY FOR INCIDENTAL ITEMS DESIRED BY RESIDENTS.VALLEY HEALTH SERVICES, INC. HUMAN RESOURCES STAFF AND DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY LIFE PARTICIPATED IN CAREER FAIRS WITH HERKIMER COUNTY WORKING SOLUTIONS, HERKIMER COLLEGE AND LPN PROGRAM AT HERKIMER COUNTY BOCES.THE DEPARTMENTS OF REHABILITATION THERAPY AND SOCIAL SERVICES PROVIDED CLINCIAL SUPERVISION TO COLLEGE INTERNS. VALLEY HEALTH SERVICES, INC.'S ADMINISTRATOR, KATHY EISENHUT, IS REPRESENTED ON THE BOARD OF HERKIMER COUNTY HEALTHNET AS WELL AS HEALTHNET'S LONG-TERM CARE COMMITTEE. IN ADDITION, PRESIDENT, LISA BETRUS, SERVES ON THE FOLLOWING NONPROFIT BOARDS: - AT HOME CARE, INC. - THE STANLEY THEATER - MOHAWK VALLEY REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL - WORKFORCE INVESTMENT BOARD OF HERKIMER, MADISON AND ONEIDA COUNTIES VALLEY HEALTH SERVICES, INC. SERVES AS A CLINICAL ROTATION SITE FOR THE HERKIMER BOCES LPN AND CNA CLASSES. ADDITIONALLY, VALLEY HEALTH SERVICES INC.
