THE NORTH HUDSON REGIONAL COUNCIL OF MAYORS IS A NON-PROFIT CORPORATION ESTABLISHED TO ACT AS AN ADMINISTRATIVE AGENT FOR THE MEMBER MUNICIPALITIES, LOCATED IN THE COUNTY OF HUDSON, NEW JERSEY, TO REGIONALIZE THE ADMINISTRATION OF STATE AND FEDERAL FUNDED PROGRAMS AND OTHER SERVICES. THE COUNCIL IS TASKED TO REALIZE ECONOMIES OF SCALE THROUGH CENTRALIZED PLANNING, MANAGEMENT AND CONSOLIDATION OF MUNICIPAL SERVICES, AS WELL AS TO SECURE AVAILABLE FEDERAL AND STATE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. THE COUNCIL PROVIDES FOOD FOR HOMEBOUND ELDERLY RESIDENTS OF THE MEMBER MUNICIPALITIES.

SENIOR NUTRITION/CONGREGATE: NOON-TIME MEALS THAT MEET 1/3 OF THE R.D.A. (RECOMMENDED DAILY ALLOWANCE) REQUIREMENT TO ACTIVE MEMBERS OF THE SENIOR POPULATION (60 YEARS OF AGE OR OVER AND THEIR SPOUSES) AT 11 NUTRITION SITES LOCATED IN UNION CITY, WEST NEW YORK, NORTH BERGEN,WEEHAWKEN, HOBOKEN, AND KEARNY. MEALS ON WHEELS: PROVIDE DELIVERED MEALS (ALSO MEETING 1/3 OF THE R.D.A. REQUIREMENT) TO THOSE SENIORS WHO ARE FRAIL, HOMEBOUND OR DISABLED. WEEKEND MEAL SERVICES ARE ALSO PROVIDED TO A LESSER NUMBER OF SENIORS WHO ARE DETERMINED ELIGIBLE ACCORDING TO SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES. THE SERVICE AREA INCLUDES UNION CITY, WEST NEW YORK, NORTH BERGEN, WEEHAWKEN,HOBOKEN, AND KEARNY.
