SHIELD MINISTRIES IS A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT TO REDUCE HOMELESSNESS, RE-OFFENSE, DRUG DEPENDENCY, AND TO PROMOTE WHOLENESS OF MEN.

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM: PROVIDED A MEN'S SUSTAIN THE CHANGE TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM WHICH RECEIVED 118 APPLICATIONS, ACCEPTED 76 AND ADMITTED 60 MEN WHICH INCLUDED 70.0% REGISTERED SEX-OFFENDERS AND 12.0% VETERANS. THE PROGRAM ALSO INCLUDES DAILY EDUCATIONAL CLASSES WHICH INCLUDE BRAIN DETOX, HIS WAY, JOBS FOR LIFE, HEALING FOR DAMAGED EMOTIONS, MENTORING, AND CELEBRATE RECOVERY IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE MEN AS THEY TRANSITION BACK INTO THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITY. PROGRAM ALSO INCLUDES CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES, DAILY EDUCATIONAL CLASSES, WHICH INCLUDE COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL CLASSES, WORK READINESS, HEALING FOR DAMAGED EMOTIONS, HEALING OF MEMORIES, CELEBRATE RECOVERY, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, UNTANGLING RELATIONSHIPS, AND HIS WAY MINISTRY MENTORSHIP PROGRAM IN ORDER TO ASSIST MEN AS THEY TRANSITION BACK INTO THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITY.
COMMUNITY OF HOPE INITIATIVE: THE COMMUNITY OF HOPE PROJECT CONSISTS OF A BUILDING THAT WILL BE A FACILITY WITH 85 BEDS WHICH WILL DOUBLE THE BED SPACE. IN ADDITION, THE PROJECT WILL PROVIDE EXPANSION OF ITS SERVICES TO ASSIST IN CRISIS STABILIZATION, REGULATORY COMPLIANCE, LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND THE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM TO PROVIDE ON-SITE WORKFORCE SOFT AND HARD SKILLS TRAINING. DURING 2021, THE EXPENSES RELATED TO THIS PROGRAM ARE THE WRITE DOWN OF UNCOLLECTED PLEDGES TO GIVE.
SPECIFIC ASSISTANCE TO PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS: THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES MEALS THROUGH A FOOD PANTRY IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE LOWCOUNTRY FOOD BANK, BLANKETS, SHEETS, TOWELS, AND HYGIENE PRODUCTS.
