INVESTSC WAS FORMED IN 2007 BY THE SC JOBS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY TO OPERATE A VENTURE CAPITAL INVESTMENT PROGRAM WHICH THE STATE OF SC CONSIDERED TO BE ITS BURDEN. IN ACCORDANCE WITH IRC REG 1.501(C)(3)-1(D)(2), INVESTSC LESSENS THIS BURDEN BY PROVIDING THE SEED CAPITAL FOR ENTERPRISES IN SC SO AS TO HELP STRENGTHEN THE STATE'S ECONOMIC BASE AND TO SUPPORT THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT GOALS OF SC.
