NEW YORK THEATRE BARN (NYTB) IS A THEATRE COMPANY THAT SERVES AS A HOME FOR ORIGINAL CULTURE SHIFTING MUSICALS DURING INCUBATION. THE COMPANY HAS BEEN DEDICATED TO INCUBATING NEW MUSICALS IN FRONT OF LIVE AUDIENCES SINCE 2007.

OUR FOUR INNOVATIVE CORE PROGRAMMING PLATFORMS ALLOW US TO INCUBATE ORIGINAL MUSICALS IN FRONT OF LIVE AUDIENCES. THIS ENABLES WRITERS, DIRECTORS, CHOREOGRAPHERS, AND PRODUCERS TO EXPERIMENT AND DEVELOP EACH CULTURE-SHIFTING STORY THROUGH A UNIQUE INCUBATORY PROCESS. WE EVOLVED OUR AWARD-WINNING NEW WORKS SERIES AND CHOREOGRAPHY LAB TO PRESENT VIRTUAL, HYBRID PRESENTATIONS. WE ALSO LAUNCHED THEATRE BARN RECORDS (AN IMPRINT OF BROADWAY RECORDS), A PODCAST FROM BROADWAY PODCAST NETWORK (THE MUSICALS OF TOMORROW). IN OCTOBER 2021, WE HOSTED A WEEK-LONG RESIDENCY FOR SUEÑOS: OUR AMERICAN MUSICAL AT THEATERLAB IN MANHATTAN. WE HAVE AMASSED A CATALOG OF OVER 1,150 VIDEOS AND OVER ONE MILLION VIEWS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL. OUR LIVE VIRTUAL PROGRAMMING ALLOWS US TO REACH A DIVERSE GLOBAL AUDIENCE TO OBSERVE THE DEVELOPMENT OF MEANINGFUL, ORIGINAL CULTURE-SHIFTING MUSICALS. OVER THE PAST YEAR, WE'VE WELCOMED A NEW MARKETING DIRECTOR, PRESENTED A PANEL ON LATINX THEATRE CREATORS, A PANEL ON WOMEN IN THE THEATRE (AS PART OF OUR A SEAT AT THE TABLE ROUNDTABLE SERIES), CELEBRATED BLACK HISTORY MONTH WITH THE RELEASE OF THE CONCEPT ALBUM FREEDOM RIDERS: THE CIVIL RIGHTS MUSICALS RELEASED THE CONCEPT ALBUM SEASONS: A NEW MUSICAL SONG CYCLE IN COLLABORATION WITH BROADWAY RECORDS, AND RETURNED TO LIVE IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING WITH OUR AWARD-WINNING NEW WORKS SERIES. FOR ARTISTS: THE SUPPORT OF NEW YORK THEATRE BARN MEANS INVESTMENT IN THE PROCESS. WE GIVE ARTISTS TIME, SPACE, SUPPORT, AND THE FREEDOM TO CREATE THEIR WAY.
