THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S AWARD IS AN EXCITING SELF-DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM AVAILABLE TO ALL YOUNG PEOPLE WORLDWIDE EQUIPPING THEM WITH CONFIDENCE AND SKILLS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITHIN THEMSELVES, THEIR COMMUNITIES, AND THE WORLD. TO DATE, OVER 8 MILLION YOUNG PEOPLE FROM OVER 144 COUNTRIES HAVE BEEN MOTIVATED TO UNDERTAKE A VARIETY OF VOLUNTARY AND CHALLENGING ACTIVITIES. THE AWARD IS NON-COMPETITIVE AND NON-ACADEMIC, BUT RATHER AIMS TO DEVELOP ONE'S ENTIRE SELF, CREATING RESPONSIBLE AND EXPERIENCED CITIZENS AND ENCOURAGING SELFLESS SERVICE TO OTHERS.

THE US AWARD HAS INCREASED ITS PARTICIPANT BASE THROUGH ITS NATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS WITH THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA AND THE MISS AMERICA ORGANIZATION. THE US AWARD'S SUCCESSFUL GROWTH IS A FUNCTION OF ITS VOLUNTEER BOARD OF DIRECTORS, NATIONAL EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT. ALL PROGRAMS ARE FOR THE GROWTH AND ENCOURAGEMENT OF ALL YOUTH AGES 14-24 TO BE THE CHANGE THEY WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD BY INSPIRING THEM TO GROW AND ACHIEVE.
