MERCY PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CARRIES FORWARD THE MISSION OF JESUS AND THE SISTERS OF MERCY BY OFFERING COUNSELING FOR INDIVIDUALS, GROUPS AND FAMILIES ALONG WITH TRAINING OF THERAPISTS. THOSE WHO ASK FOR OUR SERVICES ARE WELCOMED WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION AND REGARDLESS OF ABILITY TO PAY.

MERCY PROFESSIONAL SERVICES ("MPS") PROVIDES INDIVIDUAL, COUPLE, GROUP AND FAMILY THERAPY. PATIENTS RANGE FROM AGE 6 TO ELDERLY ADULTS. PROBLEMS TREATED INCLUDE DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS AND RELATIONSHIP PROBLEMS OF ADULTS, TEENS AND CHILDREN. MPS COLLABORATES WITH AGENCIES SERVING LOW INCOME CLIENTS IN ORDER TO PROVIDE NEEDED CARE FOR THE WHOLE PERSON/FAMILY. DURING 2018, MPS BEGAN PROVIDING MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES TO THE IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH CASA DE SALUD. MPS ALSO PROVIDES CLINICAL TRAINING FOR MASTERS LEVEL INTERNS IN THEIR FINAL PRACTICUM AND FOR GRADUATE CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKERS SEEKING THEIR LICENSURE. FEES ARE CHARGED ON A SLIDING SCALE ACCORDING TO THE ABILITY TO PAY. FEES CAN BE AS LOW AS $1/HOUR OF SERVICE. IN THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2023, A TOTAL OF 1175 SESSIONS PROVIDED TO 85 UNIQUE CLIENTS WHO WERE UNABLE TO PAY OR UNABLE TO PAY THE FULL FEE TOTALED APPROXIMATELY $141,000 (VALUED AT $120/HOUR). CHARITY SUPERVISION SESSIONS PROVIDED TO MENTAL HEALTH INTERNS TOTALED 302 HOURS, WITH A MARKET VALUE OF $45300 (VALUED AT $150/HOUR). ACCORDINGLY, CONTRIBUTED DIRECT CONTACT HOURS OF THERAPEUTIC SERVICES AND EDUCATIONAL SUPERVISION WAS VALUED AT $186,300. AN ADDITIONAL 30 CLIENTS AND 600 SESSIONS WERE DELIVERED TO CLIENTS WHO WERE ABLE TO PAY USING THEIR HEALTH INSURANCE OR SELF PAY.MERCY PROFESSIONAL SERVICES OFFERED TWO TEENS SUPPORT GROUPS DURING THE SUMMER, AND EIGHT SESSIONS OF EMOTION PSYCHOEDUCATION GROUPS X2, ONE IN SPANISH, ONE IN ENGLISH.MERCY RECEIVED A SUBSTANTIAL GRANT PRIOR TO JUNE 30, 2023 WHICH WILL PAY FOR TWO FULL TIME SPANISH SPEAKING MSW'S OVER THE NEXT TWO YEARS.MERCY PROFESSIONAL SERVICES ALSO PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND REFERRALS TO APPROPRIATE OUTSIDE SERVICE PROVIDERS. SISTER MICHELLE DOES PRESENTATIONS TO OTHER THERAPISTS. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ROMAN CATHOLIC VALUES AND THE MISSION OF THE SISTERS OF MERCY AS WELL AS THE ETHICAL CODES OF RELEVANT PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS, STATE AND FEDERAL LAW.
