THE MUSEUM HAD A SUCCESSFUL YEAR WITH THE HEART & SOUL OF UKRAINE ART SHOW, FEATURING THE WORK OF FIVE REFUGEE ARTISTS IN SAN DIEGO. ATTENDANCE CONTINUES TO BUILD WITH THE POPULAR POE THEATRICAL PERFORMANCES, A VICTORIAN ARTISTS SALON, AND MUSICAL EVENTS. THIS 1887 HISTORIC SITE HAD MANY MAINTENANCE ISSUES DUE TO THE EXTRA WET YEAR, AND WE HAD TO MAKE SOME MAJOR ROOF REPAIRS. AN AUGUST 2023 BREAK-IN THROUGH THE BALCONY CAUSED DESTRUCTION OF THE HISTORIC FRENCH DOORS, AND REPAIR OF THE DOOR FRAME, RECREATION OF THE DOORS, AND CREATION OF CUSTOM SECURITY DOORS CAUSED ADDITIONAL EXPENSE DUE TO THIS SENSELESS VANDALISM (NOTHING WAS STOLEN).
