PUBLIC POLICY ADVOCACY AND FORUMSCONNECT ASSOCIATION HELD 3 PUBLIC POLICY FORUMS DURING THE YEAR WITH APPROXIMATELY 50 ATTENDEES. THESE FORUMS ARE 2-HOUR SESSIONS THAT SEEK TO EDUCATE ENTREPRENEURS AND RESEARCHERS ON TIMELY POLITICAL ISSUES HAPPENING ON THE LOCAL, STATE AND/OR FEDERAL ARENA. THE PURPOSE OF CONNECT'S PUBLIC POLICY FORUM IS TO PROVIDE CRUCIAL INSIGHT INTO CURRENT GOVERNMENTAL TOPICS WHICH EFFECT SAN DIEGO'S INNOVATORS AND ENTREPRENEURS. THE GOAL IS THAT THE AUDIENCE GAIN A GREATER UNDERSTANDING OF CURRENT LEGISLATION AND GOVERNMENT PROCEDURES, AND THEIR IMPLICATIONS FOR SAN DIEGO BUSINESSES.CONNECT ASSOCIATION'S PUBLIC POLICY ADVOCACY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE ADDRESSING SPECIFIC ISSUES A COMPANY MAY FACE BY WRITING LETTERS TO THE STATE LEGISLATURE & CONGRESS AND BY VISITING WASHINGTON DC TO FURTHER THEIR INTEREST ON ANY PARTICULAR ISSUE.
