1. HANDS-ON LEARNING GRANTS: EVERY SPRING WE AWARD AT LEAST 10,000 IN SMALL GRANTS (UP TO 2,500 EACH) TO RAS STAFF WHO APPLY FOR A HANDS-ON LEARNING GRANT. THE FUNDING FOR THESE GRANTS COMES PRIMARILY FROM THE STAFF CHARITABLE GIVING CAMPAIGN IN THE FALL. OUR GENEROUS STAFF MAKE A DONATION TO SEVEN DREAMS FROM THEIR PAYCHECKS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, OR THROUGH A ONE-TIME DONATION. THEIR GENEROSITY COMES FULL CIRCLE SINCE ALL OF THIS MONEY IS USED TO FUND STAFF GRANTS FOR PROJECTS IN THEIR SCHOOLS. 2. SUPPORT DISTRICT-WIDE INITIATIVES: EVERY YEAR, THE SEVEN DREAMS EDUCATION FOUNDATION WORKS COLLABORATIVELY WITH ROBBINSDALE AREA SCHOOLS' DISTRICT ADMINISTRATORS TO CREATE A LARGE DISTRICT-WIDE INITIATIVE THAT WILL IMPACT MANY STUDENTS. THE FOUNDATION CHOOSES ONE INITIATIVE TO FUND THROUGH PROCEEDS FROM THE BIRD BASH GALA EVENT. INITIATIVES HAVE INCLUDED A MULTICULTURAL BOOK PROJECT TO BUY 2,500 ELECTRONIC AND PRINT BOOKS FOR THE MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL MEDIA CENTERS THAT ARE CULTURALLY RELEVANT AND INCLUSIVE OF EVERYONE'S STORY AND REINVIGORATING THE INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC PROGRAM BY PROVIDING THE FUNDS FOR MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, CULTURALLY RELEVANT MUSIC, AND ARTISTS-IN-RESIDENCY PROFESSIONALS.
