GRANTS FOR POLIO PREVENTION PROGRAMS; SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED YOUTH; SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS FOR ONE YEAR OF STUDY AT GEORGIA COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES; CARE; USA; JORDAN PROJECT.
EARLY EDUCATION INITIATIVE: ATLANTA MAYOR ANDRE DICKENS HAS BEGUN MOBILIZING A HISTORIC $20M PUBLIC/PRIVATE INVESTMENT IN EARLY EDUCATION, CALLING ON THE PRIVATE SECTOR FOR HELP. THE ROTARY CLUB'S CHARITABLE FOUNDATION IS ANSWERING THAT CALL WITH A THREE-YEAR COMMITMENT TO INCREASE ACCESS TO AND THE QUALITY OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION IN ATLANTA. EARLY EDUCATORS ARE AMONG THE LOWEST-PAID PROFESSIONALS IN EVERY STATE, WHICH IS WHY EDUCATION WORKFORCE INCENTIVES ARE A KEY PILLAR OF THE MAYOR'S PLAN. THE ROTARY CLUB OF ATLANTA WILL BE THE LEAD PRIVATE-SECTOR PARTNER IN THIS EFFORT, HELPING TO KEEP MORE OF OUR BIRTH-TO-FIVE TEACHERS IN THE CLASSROOM AND ENCOURAGING THEM TO PUT THE SCIENCES OF HEALTHY BRAIN DEVELOPMENT, LANGUAGE ACQUISITION AND LITERACY TO WORK FOR OUR YOUNGEST LEARNERS.
