OUR MISSION IS TO EMPOWER THE CHILDREN OF MALI, WEST AFRICA BY EXPANDING AND IMPROVING EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR THEM WITHIN THEIR OWN VILLAGES.

Part 3 - Line 4a

ACCESSIBLE SCHOOLS: OPENED TWO NEW SCHOOLS, PROVIDING ACCESS TO EDUCATION FOR APPROXIMATELY 200 CHILDREN IN THE VILLAGES OF N'GOKO AND BANKO. IMPLEMENTED MAINTENANCE TRAININGS AT EXISTING SCHOOLS. ASSISTED TWO SCHOOLS WITH FINDING A PARTNER TO IMPROVE THEIR WATER WELL SITUATION.


EDUCATIONAL QUALITY: HOSTED 5 TEACHER PEER MEETINGS TO HELP TEACHERS LEARN FROM AND SUPPORT EACH OTHER IN SKILL DEVELOPMENT. ISSUED MALI RISING TEACHER AWARDS TO THREE OUTSTANDING TEACHERS. PROVIDED EXTENSIVE SUPPORT AND TUTORING TO MORE THAN 300 GIRLS THROUGH THE GIRLS PROJECT, AND REACHED APPROXIMATELY 140 GIRLS WITH BASIC PROGRAMMING. TRAINED 6 GIRLS LEADERS IN LEADERSHIP AND PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS TO ALLOW THEM TO LEAD WOMEN IN THEIR VILLAGES. DISTRIBUTED TAKE-HOME WORKBOOKS TO ALLOW STUDENTS TO CONTINUE LEARNING DURING COVID SHUTDOWNS AND TEACHER STRIKES. DELIVERED APPROXIMATELY 300 TEXTBOOKS TO CLASSROOMS. DISTRIBUTED TWENTY LEARNING KITS AND A VIRTUAL LIBRARY THAT TRAVEL AMONG SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE TEACHERS WITH SPECIAL TEACHING TOOLS TO SUPPLEMENT CLASSROOM MATERIALS.


INSPIRATION: PROVIDED SCHOLARSHIPS TO 34 STUDENT GRADUATES IN MALI TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION AT HIGH SCHOOL, NURSING SCHOOL, AND OTHER VOCATION PROGRAMS. HOSTED 17 YOUNG STUDENTS TO SERVE AS YOUTH AMBASSADORS SUPPORTING OUR SCHOOLS. HOSTED THE SPEECH UP! VIDEO CONTEST FOR YOUNG AMERICANS TO SHARE THEIR THOUGHTS ON INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ISSUES.
