THE BARBARA ANN KARMANOS CANCER HOSPITAL IS DEDICATED TO THE DELIVERY OF CANCER CARE SERVICES, THE TREATMENT AND CARE OF CANCER PATIENTS AND THE PREVENTION OF CANCER.

INPATIENT: HEALTH CARE DELIVERY & MANAGEMENT: BARBARA ANN KARMANOS CANCER HOSPITAL IS DEDICATED TO THE DELIVERY OF CANCER CARE SERVICES, THE TREATMENT AND CARE OF CANCER PATIENTS AND THE PREVENTION OF CANCER. ADDITIONALLY, KARMANOS PROMOTES, ENCOURAGES, AIDS AND PERFORMS SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATIONS AND RESEARCH ADDRESSING THE CAUSE, TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF CANCER. ESSENTIAL CANCER MEDICAL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO THE COMMUNITY. FROM OCTOBER 2020 TO SEPTEMBER 2021, KARMANOS HAD 23,439 PATIENT DAYS AND 2,694 DISCHARGES FOR AN AVERAGE LENGTH OF STAY OF 8.72 DAYS. IN ADDITION, THERE WERE 251 BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT CASES, 809 INPATIENT SURGICAL CASES, AND 2,692 INPATIENT IMAGING CASES.


AMBULATORY SERVICES: THE BARBARA ANN KARMANOS CANCER HOSPITAL PROVIDED MEDICAL SERVICES TO CANCER PATIENTS INCLUDING RADIATION ONCOLOGY, CHEMOTHERAPY, BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT, MAMMOGRAPHY AND HEMATOLOGY CONSULTATIVE, DIAGNOSTIC AND TREATMENT SERVICES. ESSENTIAL CANCER AND MEDICAL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO THE COMMUNITY. FROM OCTOBER 2020 TO SEPTEMBER 2021, THE FOLLOWING OUTPATIENT STATISTICS WERE REPORTED: CLINICAL VISITS OF 58,048; INFUSION PATIENTS OF 22,485; IMAGING PROCEDURES OF 65,452; PHERESIS PATIENTS TOTALED 703; INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT RADIATION ONCOLOGY PROCEDURES OF 19,076 AND OUTPATIENT SURGICAL CASES OF 1,571.


THE BARBARA ANN KARMANOS CANCER HOSPITAL PROMOTES AIDS AND PERFORMS SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATIONS AND RESEARCH ADDRESSING THE CAUSE, TREATMENTS AND PREVENTION OF CANCER. PHASE 1 CLINIC VISITS OF 181; PHASE 1 INFUSION PATIENT VISITS OF 4,511. AT SEPTEMBER 30, 2021, KCC HAD 317 ACTIVE CLINICAL DRUG TRIALS; 627 PATIENTS WILLING TO PARTICIPATE OF WHICH 476 WERE ELIGIBLE AND REGISTERED AS PARTICIPANTS.
