THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES FOOD, FREE OF CHARGE, TO THE HOMELESS AND IMPOVERISHED. MISSION: TO WORK TOGETHER AS A COALITION OF FAITH CONGREGATIONS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE HOMELESS AND IMPOVERISHED PEOPLE IN THE CITY OF AUSTIN THROUGH FACILITIES IN THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AREA BY ANSWERING THE CALL OF MICAH 6:8.

FOOD PANTRY: MICAH 6 OPERATES A FOOD PANTRY PROVIDING FOOD TO THOUSANDS OF HOUSEHOLDS. A LARGE VOLUNTEER GROUP COLLECTS AND DISTRIBUTES THIS FOOD. PROGRAMS SUPPORTED BY A DIVERSE SET OF DONORS, WHICH INCLUDE THE CENTRAL TEXAS FOOD BANK, TRADER JOES, SUNSHINE COMMUNITY GARDEN, OUR MEMBER CHURCHES AND OTHER CORPORATE AND PRIVATE DONORS. VOLUNTEERS PROVIDE REFERRALS TO OTHER SOURCES OF INFORMATION AND AID, MAINTAIN ORDER, SANITATION AND SAFETY, WATCH THE CHILDREN OF SHOPPERS AND OTHER NECESSARY TASKS.STREET YOUTH: MICAH 6'S STREET YOUTH PROGRAMS OPERATE A XDROP-IN CENTER" EVERY SUNDAY FROM 2 TO 6 PM FOR STREET DEPENDENT YOUTH. SERVICES PROVIDED ARE A COMPUTER LAB AND A SAFE PLACE OFF THE STREETS FOR FELLOWSHIP AS WELL AS NUTRITIOUS MEALS. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES ACCESS THROUGH THE MEMBER CHURCHES TO RENT ASSISTANCE, BUS PASSES, ID'S AND GLASSES. THE PROGRAM ALSO OPERATES A WOMEN'S RESOURCE GROUP TO MENTOR YOUNG WOMEN, ESPECIALLY AROUND PREGNANCY. MICAH 6 PROVIDES SAFE AND WELCOMING SERVICES FOR ANYONE 30 OR YOUNGER NEEDING HELP, REGARDLESS OF RACE, ETHNICITY, GENDER, SEXUAL IDENTITY OR PHYSICAL OR MENTAL DISABILITIES.
