THE FOUNDATION GRANTS FUNDS TO THE FUNDACION DE MISIONES INTERNACIONAIES HONDUREAN IN ORDER TO FUND THE CLINICA NUEVA ESPERANZA A MEDICAL CLINIC SERVING A REMOTE AREA OF HONDURAS. FUNDS ARE USED FOR THE PHYSICIAN, NURSE AND OTHER STAFF SALARIES, PHARMACEUTICALS, SUPPLIES, LAB TESTS AND OTHER OPERATING EXPENSES. IN 2023 THE STAFF AT THE CLINIC SAW 8,769 PATIENTS AND 3,802 WERE UNABLE TO PAY. OTHER PATIENTS WERE ABLE TO PAY A NOMINAL FEE FOR A DOCTOR VISIT AND MEDICATIONS. IF THEY ARE UNABLE TO PAY THE CLINIC PROVIDES BOTH THE DOCTOR VISIT AND MEDICATIONS AT NOT COST. OF THESE PATIENTS 210 WERE EMERGENCIES AND 146 WERE STABALIZED AND SENT TO THE TEACHING HOSITAL IN TEGUCIGALPA FOR MORE EXTENSIVE TREATMENT. IN 2023 487 PAP SMEARS WERE PERFORMED. IN 2023 3,656 DENTAL PATIENTS WERE SEEN OF WHOM 1,098 WERE UNABLE TO PAY. THE LAB DID A TOTAL OF 12,528 TESTS; 1,456 GENERAL URINE, 2345 HEMOGLOBIN, 203 OCCULT BLOOD, 456 GLYCOYZED HEMOGLOBIN, 768 PREGNANCY, 4,069 BLOOD GLUCOSE, 1,345 DENGAY AND 3,456 COVID. THE CLINICS PHYSICIAN AND DENTIST CONDUCT HEALTH TALKS ON A VARIETY OF TOPICS IN THE SCHOOLS AND THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. IN 20233 MASSIVE CAMPAIGNS TO ELIMINATE DENGAY TRANSMITTERS AND MOSQUITO POOLUATIONS WERE UNDERTAKEN.
