LREF GRANTS OUT NEARLY ALL OF ITS INCOME FROM ITS ANNUAL FUNDRAISING EVENT. WE STRIVE TO MAINTAIN ABOUT 10,000 IN OUR CHECKING ACCOUNT FOR OPERATING EXPENSES AND TO MAKE A CONTRIBUTION TO OUR ENDOWMENT WITH ANY REMAINING FUNDS (AFTER GRANTS AND COVERING OPERATING COSTS). THIS FULFILLS OUR MISSION, "TO PROMOTE EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE IN THE LOGAN-ROGERSVILLE SCHOOL SYSTEM AND COMMUNITY BY GENERATING FINANCIAL RESOURCES FROM PRIVATE FUNDS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS, FACULTY AND ORGANIZATIONS," BY FUNDING GRANTS FROM L-R TEACHERS THAT DIRECTLY INFLUENCE THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT OF L-R STUDENTS. WE ALSO GIVE AN ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP TO ONE L-R SENIOR AND FUND ANY EXTRANEOUS REQUESTS OUTSIDE THE NORMAL GRANT CYCLE FROM THE DISTRICT THAT PROMOTE EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE, AS FUNDS ALLOW.
