THE MISSION OF THE OMAHA SPORTS COMMISSION IS TO FOSTER A POSITIVE SOCIO-ECONOMIC IMPACT ON AND A HEIGHTENED AWARENESS AND IMAGE OF OMAHA BY ATTRACTING, HOSTING, & SUPPORTING AMATEUR SPORTING EVENTS.

Part 3 - Line 4a

OMAHA SPORTS COMMISSION HOSTED THE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT (TBT). TBT IS A 64-TEAM, SINGLE ELIMINATION BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT. OSC HOSTED ONE OF THE EIGHT (8) REGIONAL ROUNDS, HOSTING EIGHT (8) TEAMS. THE TEAM WHO WON THE REGIONAL HOSTED IN OMAHA ADVANCED TO QUARTERFINALS. SEVEN (7) GAMES WERE HOSTED OVER FOUR DAYS AT SOKOL ARENA.


OMAHA SPORTS COMMISSION HOSTED THE OPENING ROUNDS FOR THE NAIA MEN'S AND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS. OSC HOSTED FOUR (4) MEN'S TEAMS AND FOUR (4) WOMEN'S TEAMS. THE TEAM OF EACH GENDER WHO WON IN OMAHA ADVANCED TO THE CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND. EIGHT (8) TEAMS COMPETED IN OMAHA OVER FOUR (4) DAYS.


OSC HOSTED THE CAPITOL DISTRICT POLE VAULT ON JULY 8-9, 2022. THIS EVENT WAS A STREET VAULT WHERE VAULTERS OF ALL LEVELS WERE INVITED OR REGISTERED TO COMPETE. INCLUDED WITH THE EVENT WAS AN INSTRUCTIONAL CLINIC OPEN TO ANY VAULTER INTERESTED IN ENHANCING THEIR SKILLS.
