MARKETING - PROMOTE OLD SACRAMENTO AS A PLACE TO VISIT AND SHOP THROUGH PUBLIC RELATIONS, ADVERTISING, PROMOTIONS AND EVENTS. THE ORGANIZATION PRODUCES THE THEATRE OF LIGHTS EACH HOLIDAY SEASON. IT IS A TWICE NIGHTLY SHOW FREE TO THE PUBLIC THAT HIGHLIGHTS THE HISTORY OF THE AREA AND ATTRACTS 50,000 LOCAL AND REGIONAL VISITORS. MERCHANT DIRECTORIES ARE PRODUCED FOUR TIMES PER YEAR (20,000 EACH RUN) AND ARE DISTRIBUTED FREE TO VISITORS IN THE DISTRICT. THE ORGANIZATION PLACES PAID PRINT AND RADIO ADVERTISING THAT PROMOTES THE AREA'S SHOPPING, DINING AND EVENT ACTIVITIES.DONATED SERVICES AND DONATED USE OF EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS TOTALED $181,625 FOR EVENTS.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT - WORK WITH ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF SACRAMENTO TO GIVE OLD SACRAMENTO LONG TERM DIRECTION REGARDING HOW TO MAKE IT MORE APPEALING TO VISITORS, ESPECIALLY LOCAL VISITORS, AND HOW TO IMPROVE THE MIX OF RETAILERS; WORK WITH THE PARKING DIVISIONS OF THE CITY OF SACRAMENTO TO MAKE PARKING MORE VISITOR-FRIENDLY.
EVENTS/SAFETY AND SECURITY - PRODUCE AND SCREEN PROSPECTIVE EVENTS TO BE HELD IN OLD SACRAMENTO TO EMPHASIZE THE DISTRICT'S HISTORICAL CHARACTER AND TO BENEFIT OTHER NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION; WORK WITH NIGHTCLUBS AND THE SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT TO AVOID SAFETY AND SECURITY PROBLEMS ON WEEKEND NIGHTS.
