THE PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO PROMOTE THE BEEF CATTLE INDUSTRY IN MARION COUNTY, FLORIDA THROUGH MEETINGS AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES THROUGH ITS MEMBERS. THE ORGANIZATION IS INVOLVED IN THE BEEF CHECKOFF PROGRAM, BEEF SAFTEY AND BEEF QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAMS, GENETIC IMPROVEMENT OF BEEF CATTLE AND VARIOUS YOUTH ACTIVITIES AS THEY PERTAIN TO BEEF CATTLE. THE MAIN SERVICE PROGRAM OF THE ORGANIZATION IS AN ANNUAL BULL SALE HELD OCTOBER OF EACH YEAR, WHICH PROVIDES A "MARKET" FOR THOSE IN THE INDUSTRY TO BUY AND SELL BULLS FOR PRODUCTION OF THEIR CALF CROP. THE SALE HAS BEEN AN ONGING EVENT FOR OVER 60 YEARS AND REACHES MANY PRODUCERS WITHIN THE SOUTHEASTERN UNITED STATES. ADDITIONALLY, THE ORGANIZATION WORKS WITH THE STATE AND NATIONAL CATTLEMEN'S ASSOCIATIONS TO FURTHER THE PROMOTION OF THE BEEF INDUSTRY.
