SUPPORT THE EDUCATIONAL MISSION OF BRIGHTON CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT THROUGH ALUMNI EVENTS AND PROJECTS FOR THE STUDENTS.

SCHOLARSHIP FUND - THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND HAS ACCUMULATED OVER THE YEARS FROM ALUMNI CONTRIBUTIONS AND THE REINVESTMENT OF THE EARNINGS. IN 2022 THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED SCHOLARSHIPS TO 9 BRIGHTON GRADUATES FOR A TOTAL OF $24,000. THE SCHOLARSHIPS WERE ORIGINALLY $1500 PER YEAR FOR FOUR YEARS (AS LONG AS THE STUDENT REMAINED IN COLLEGE). IN 2018 IT WAS INCREASED TO $2500 PER YEAR.IN 2020, THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION STARTED THE HART-THOMAS SCHOLARSHIP IN MEMORY OF BRIGHTON HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH TEACHER ELIZABETH HART AND 12 CORNERS MIDDLE SCHOOL ENGLISH TEACHER LOUISE THOMAS. A $1,000 SCHOLARSHIP IS ISSUED ANNUALLY TO A STUDENT IN RECOGNITION OF THEIR WRITING SKILLS, THEIR INTENT TO BECOME PUBLISHED AUTHOR AND WERE PROFILED IN THE BSAA'S 13TH CORNER NEWSLETTER.
ALUMNI PRESENTATIONS AND EVENTS - THE HALL OF FAME HONORS PAST GRADUATES WHO HAVE BEEN OUTSTANDING IN THEIR FIELD WITH A DINNER IN JUNE. IN 2022, FIVE NEW MEMBERS WERE INDUCTED TO THE HALL OF FAME.DURING NOV 2022, THE ORGANIZATION SPONSORED 8 BHS STUDENT LEADERS, SELECTED BY THE SCHOOL, PLUS ONE FACULTY ADVISOR, TO ATTEND THE 2022 TEEN LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE. IN ADDITION, THE ORGANIZATION SUBSIDIZED THE TRIP FOR 20 BHS JUNIOR AND SENIOR MINORITY STUDENTS TO VISIT 4 HISTORICALLY BLACK COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES IN THE WASHINGTON, DC AREA. THIS TRIP WAS ORGANIZED BY BHS ALONG WITH 5 OTHER SUBURBAN SCHOOLS IN THE MONROE COUNTY AREA AND WAS A FIRST OF ITS KIND.
