THE PRIMARY MISSION OF THE VETERANS HEALTH RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF CENTRAL NEW YORK INC., AN IRC SECTION 501(C)(3) CORPORATION ESTABLISHED IN ACCORDANCE WITH USC TITLE 38, SUB CHAPTER IV - RESEARCH AND EDUCATION CORPORATION, SECTION 7361-7368 IS TO ADVANCE THE RESEARCH MISSION OF THE SYRACUSE VA MEDICAL CENTER AND THE FINGER LAKES HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. THE OVERARCHING GOAL OF ALL RESEARCH ACTIVITY IS TO IMPROVE MEDICAL CARE FOR ALL VETERANS.

THE ORGANIZATION IS ENGAGED IN MEDICAL RESEARCH TO DISCOVER, DEVELOP OR VERIFY KNOWLEDGE RELATED TO CAUSES, DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENT OR PREVENTION OF PHYSICAL OR MENTAL DISEASES AND IMPAIRMENTS FOR VETERANS. DURING THE YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION HAD APPROXIMATELY 30 STUDIES AND 116 PATIENTS ENROLLED.
