THE ARTRAGE MISSION IS TO EXHIBIT PROGRESSIVE ART THAT INSPIRES RESISTANCE AND PROMOTES SOCIAL AWARENESS; SUPPORTS SOCIAL JUSTICE, CHALLENGES PRECONCEPTIONS AND ENCOURAGES CULTURAL CHANGE. OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE ARTRAGE VISITORS WITH AN EXPERIENCE THAT ENCOURAGES THE BREAKDOWN OF BOUNDARIES SO THAT PEOPLE CAN SEE THEMSELVES IN THE WORK AND THEN IN ONE ANOTHER. THE ORGANIZATION GENERALLY AVERAGES FIVE EXHIBITIONS PER YEAR, ACCOMPANIED BY A SERIES OF RELATED COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS SUCH AS ARTIST TALKS AND EDUCATION PRESENTATIONS. EACH EXHIBITION SEASON IS CAREFULLY PLANNED TO FEATURE A RANGE OF ARTISTIC MEDIA AND DIVERSE ARTISTS. TO INSURE DIVERSITY, CONSIDERATION IS GIVEN TO RACE, SEX AND GEOGRAPHY WHEN SEEKING ARTISTS AND THE RANGE OF SOCIAL ISSUES PRESENTED IN THE WORK. TO EXPAND OUR REACH AND BUILD BRIDGES WITH LOCAL GROUPS, THE ORGANIZATION TRIES TO MOUNT EVERY EXHIBITION IN COLLABORATION WITH AT LEAST ONE LOCAL COMMUNITY GROUP. ALL EXHIBITIONS MUST REFLECT OUR MISSION TO EMBRACE ART AND ACTIVISM.
